Disclosure: No, I am NOT regretting this choice. Don't take this blog post the wrong way!
Next Sunday marks the 6 month mark since we moved into our RV full time. I still love it and we still have full time travel goals, but the arrival of cold weather has changed some things. It has brought with it a lot of impatience from me! I'm remembering how much I despise cold weather and why. This is making me that much more ready to be able to travel full time! But we can't make that move just yet, at least not comfortably.
Our Amazon store will eventually be producing a pretty significant amount of passive income for us, but like a fine wine, it needs to age a little more first. It's a true "investment" that has to grow and we've made the decision that we're going to let it get a little more established before we make the leap to full time travel. We're also invested in some digital real estate that should also be bringing in some passive income for us. So for now, we continue to travel part time and wait. We have an income goal and budget ready, but it seems like the closer we get, the harder it is to wait!
Not being able to spend as much time outside comfortably is making us pretty stir crazy. What's funny though is when we lived in a house, I was pretty content to just hang out inside all day. But moving into an RV full time in the summer and getting a taste of constant outdoor activities was a huge tease! Because now I want that constantly! We spent so much of our days outside this summer and the boys absolutely LOVED it. Then the cold weather arrived and while we still spend some time outside, it's just not quite the same. We would rather be chasing those 70 degree days all year around!
So, for now, we continue to wait. We have our Big Bend National Park trip coming up in December. Then we're hopeful for a long trip to the Florida Keys in the spring. Then the warm weather will return and we can spend more time outside again, which should help ease the impatience of waiting for full time travel. Then, hopefully before we know it, our income from our Amazon store will be where we need it to be, we will both have online jobs, and we can make the full time travel transition!
