It’s hard to believe that it’s almost been a year since my family and I made the decision to live full-time in an RV. It’s been a wild ride, full of ups and downs, but I can confidently say that it’s been the best decision we’ve ever made.
Living in our RV and traveling more than ever has given us the opportunity to see and experience things that we never would have been able to if we were living in a traditional house. We’ve explored national parks, hiked mountains, boondocked on the beach, and met some truly amazing people along the way.
Of course, it hasn’t all been sunshine and rainbows. There have been times when we’ve had to deal with mechanical issues or weather-related problems, but we’ve learned to roll with the punches and take each challenge as it comes.
One of the most rewarding aspects of this lifestyle has been seeing how well our boys have adapted to it. They’ve made friends at almost every campground we’ve stayed at and have learned so much about the world outside of our original location.
As we approach our one year anniversary, we’re excited to see what the next year will bring. There are so many places we still want to visit and things we want to experience. We’re also looking forward to meeting more like-minded families who are interested in this way of life. We are so close to being able to travel completely full time, we can taste it! It has been so hard to be patient for this first year and not constantly travel. But if there's one thing we've learned during this process is that having that patience pays off. It's not going to happen overnight and that's ok!
If you’re considering full-time RV living, I encourage you to do your research and then to go for it if you feel that's your calling. It’s not always easy, but it’s absolutely worth it. There’s something truly special about being able to call anywhere home. We can’t wait to see where our journey takes us next.
